• In Indo-European languages,
  • a word has at least one vowel
    • Usually...
  • words don't have more than four consonants in succession
    • Usually...
  • a sentence is a succession of words
  • a sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a period
• There is an (implicit) meta-grammar.
